Welcome. Bienvenidos again!
This is for sure the last post of the year.
And I am writing it in English.
This of course is a bad idea, because I can barely write in Spanish. The main issue is that I have almost no creativity in my own language, so this is extremely worst in English, since I have the vocabulary of a 5 years old (maybe less than that :S). I will try to do my best (si la paja no me gana).
Well, needless to be said, I know I have been extremely Blog-lazy this year, but you know you need motivation or inspiration to write, and all my inspirational objects: muses, gods, ideas, etc seem to have been in a far far away galaxy this 2010.
Until now :P
But, of course, I have to warn you in advance: this will be another easy-post, that is, I am using someone else creativity to write more than 3 words . This time, as you might have guessed already, it will be a musical post.
——–
I would like to present to you just a little of some of the music I have listened a lot in my Ipod this last days. Some of them are new to me, but other have been my companion for a long time. Hope you like at least one of them!
1. Explosions in the Sky.
You should listening to this band before you die. And I mean it.
So I will share with you 3 of their songs:
The first song I think is very representative of the sound of EITS, in the sense it has a lot of attributes that many of their songs have. In particular, it has a lot of different “stages”, or if you want to make an analogy to classical music, you can say this song has a lot of movements.
(Notice I don’t know too much about musical theory :P)
“Welcome, Ghosts”.
The next song is also a typical song of this band, but this time is kind of monotone at a first listening.
However, as almost all the music from this band, this song has a very strong effect in your emotional component. I don’t know whether the songs themselves have this emotional power that can make you star to feel something from nothing in your mind or if the music itself can play around with the feeling you already have inside you, magnifying it somehow.
And also, as many of their songs, the final part of it is like a Explosion…
“Time Stops”.
Finally, one of the things I love of this band are the beautiful titles of their songs and albums.
On particular, I present to you a song that has a hermosamente bello name, probably in the top 1 of the names of songs I like. Of course, the song itself is good and it could be the case you can even match the title of the song and the music in it (If the title and music bring to you the same kind of emotions).
“Remember me as a Time of Day”.
2. Two Door Cinema Club, “Do you want it all?”.
If you like Bloc Party, you will like this band, And if you not, you also will xD
Because thwy play a really good rock dance blah-blah pop.
Other songs you might like: ”I can talk”, “This is the life”.
3. The National, “Terrible love”.
This band is more “obscure” than the last one, at least from my point of view, but they are awesome. I think if you like Arcade Fire, you should like these guys as well .
Another absolutely recommend song: ”Conversation 16″.
4. Chinoy, “N.N.”.
Chinoy is a very talented Chilean musician, a so-called Chilean trovador.
He has a very very particular voice, and in fact this attribute makes people either to love or to hate him. You should listening to him and see what happen to you. Did you like it?? or not??
5. Camileishon bonus: Nano Stern, “Casualidad”.
Another Chilean Trovador. But in this case I would say that even when you don’t like his music, you cannot say that
this guy does not have a great nice voice. He usually perform together with Chinoy, as you can see in the next video:
The following song is the Camileishon Bonus, because this summer we went to a Nano Stern and Chinoy perfomance, and one of the last songs Nano played that night was the acoustic version of “Casualidad”.
This song es terrible de mamonamente cursi, but is a nice and lovely beautiful song. Actually, I also liked this song at that moment, it put a special mood to that already special night.
That is not the acoustic version of the song, moreover, is pretty different from it (there is almost no guitar at all in the original version!!!), but I still like it a lot, it relax my thoughts =).
6. Blackita XXX bonus: El Guincho, “Bombay”.
Although it is funny to listen to this song, here the more importan thing is the visual stuff.
It is a cool video, and, even better, it is a Hot video as well xD
Seriously speaking, this video has a lot of amazingly awesome creative and crazy scenes, so I hope you enjoy it!
Mmm, I kind of lied to you, because I don’t have this song, nor its video in my Ipod. But I think I am going to “buy” it online soon ;D.
7. Twin Bonus: Arcade fire, “Ready to start”.
This song was independently chosen from an Evil Twin Distribution. Specifically, they are the famous Astroza Brothers. As opposite to the most common twin brothers, there is not a good one between them, both of them are of the evil kind (Gemelos malvados :S!!!).
I asked them separately which Arcade Fire’s song they would recommend to someone who have never listened that band before, and both twins told me that “Ready to Star” would be a good option. Now I am wondering if they chose this song because of its name or not :P
This is all for the moment.
Mmm, I just remember that I have another post in English, but that was a long long time ago, so if you are really bored, you can look for it :P
I hope this not to be the last Inglish post, I had a good time trying to sound as someone with at least a little more advanced Inglish than Tarzán xD
Have a good 2011, 2012, 2013, etc!!!
Chao.
